Calling all bike enthusiasts and snobs. If your interested in anything to do with your handy two wheel transport such as; the history, famous riders, popular bikes, peculiar bike journals, experiences, photographs, tips & tricks or just want a quirky looking coffee table book.
These books are a little more than just your average read about bicycles.

Public transport can be such a hassle. Lateness, cost, traffic jams and stuffiness. To name but a few things of why people have ditched the local bus/train and have favoured the the reliable two wheel ride. If your more of a picture book person with a keen interest in bikes this book has been created for you. Putting a picture to a name, Brittain Sullivan and Matt Finkle have created a book filled with short stories and pictures as to why people favour their bikes and where they have taken them.

Fixed: Global Fixed-Gear Bike Culture - http://www.fixedgearbook.com/
Geared towards cyclists fixed wheel riders, urban riders, racers and those interested in cycling heritage. Brighton based author Andrew Edwards (a graphic designer, cyclist and a keen amateur racer. Max Leonard is a writer and cyclist) has travelled to cities around the world and examined at first hand the different cultures towards the bike to bring you exclusive interviews with sports-people, frame-builders and those at nexus of design, art and fixed-wheel culture give an insight into fixed-wheel design and riding experience.

Pro Stunt Scooters rival the BMX and Skateboard

Remember those cheap Micro Scooters that appeared from nowhere and suddenly became a craze a few years ago?

Well first off we're not talking about those.
We are talking about something a little more to do with the professional action sport that involves using kick stunt scooters to perform freestyle tricks similar to BMX and skateboard free styling.

This type of sport is already becoming big in the UK and could potentially rival the Skateboard due to the fact the stunt scooter has T-bar handles that ensure extra balance an stability, making it a lot easier to learn and perform tricks.

The American brand Razor is one of the favourites when it comes to professional freestyle scooting and also with celebrities as can be seen on their Razor Riders blog. There is no age limit when it comes to the sport and anyone will find it easy to learn, take for example the ages of the kids on the video...

New Electra 2012 Bikes available at Ridelow in November

The popular bike brand Electra has psyched itself up and created one of its most visionary range to date.
Its impressive 2012 collection of cruisers, hybrids, traditional and children’s bikes have a little more than just matt finishes, coloured rims and painted chain guards. Electra have gone one step ahead on style and have given their bikes more of a personality with bespoke intricate designs.

The men’s designs range from sleek solid one colour cruisers that most have mudguards already attached to customised brown or olive traditional bike frames to matt black townies with chrome finishes.

The women’s bike frames conclude of much more detailed designs such as;
The “Night Owl” that comes in a light blue (day) to navy (night) frame featuring gold and blue painted stars, moons and owls with a customised black and gold owl saddle seat.
The “Navajo” cruiser in bronze/brown comes with leather tassels attached to the handlebars/saddle and painted tribal design mudguards.
And last of the funky frame designs is the black based "Sugar Skull" featuring multicoloured floral and sugar skull patterns with an engraved saddle seat.

The kids cruiser bikes come in a range of designs including smaller versions of the women’s adult Cherie and men’s adult Sparker, so mum and daughter or farther and son can have matching bikes!

The Electra 2012 range is available at Ridelow in November with **Limited Stock** as the main launch for the 2012 range is only available in January. So if you want to be the first to grab the new editions or thinking about Christmas time....They will be available in November.

Attitude Magazine feature Ridelow

With the largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender festival coming to Manchester this weekend and the expected turn out to be a lot bigger than 2010, we thought we ought to write a blog post that fits in with the Gay Pride event!

So, if any of you have picked up the August issue of Attitude Magazine or were browsing the magazine rack in your local corner shop you might of noticed Manchester's own X-Factor winner Shayne Ward mentioned on the front cover of the best selling gay magazine.

The inside spread in the magazine shows Shayne Ward getting 'Attitude Active' on Manchester's canal side with an interesting interview on one of our very own Ridelow bikes. The Electra Straight 8 Alloy 3i BlackMens Bike to be exact, in which a member of the Attitude team rode off to the shoot on the bike itself!

You can check out the Digital Issue of the Magazine >>Here<<

Ridelow features in the next BIG McDonalds advert

The worlds largest chain of fast food restaurants, McDonald's has been around for over 80 years and in that time has created one of the most memorable whistled tunes that can be recognised all over the globe along with their well loved "quick grub".

And with that we are excited that Ridelow are going to be “helping out” the McDonald's company with their next big advertisement. By lending them an “Electra Indy 3i Mens Bike” that couldn't be more suited to the memorable golden arches on a red background logo with its red and cream vintage style frame that is also available for you too get your hands on too!

Not giving too much away the advertisement is going to flick through the years of Mcdonald's serving fast food over the globe starting in America in the 1960's and eventually ending up to todays more updated style in which our bike is going to feature in!

Before and After Subism came to Town...

You've all heard the rumors or seen the regular updates of pictures from either our @Ridelow team themselves, the street artists @Subism_Ltd or the Manchester NQ Blogger @NQManchester over popular Social Networking sites and Blogs.

But as of last week the Subism street artists finished their collaboration of the four elements of wind, fire, water and earth and officially completed it to perfection.

The fire and water element are both symbolized by beautifully intricately painted women, the wind by a quirky style blue cloud and the earth by a rocky wooden mine shaft. The guys managed to finish the work with in the 5 day time scale whilst @CrankPhoto photographed and filmed the entire thing with interviews included.

The BugJam Event...

The Bug Jam event is over, and what a Bug Jam it was! It was without a doubt the busiest event in Santa Pod’s history, and the Ridelow team got to experience the best bits of pitching a tent and providing the thrill seeking customers with something to take home.

Whether they took home some stylish protection from the sun, which thankfully set itself up to stay all weekend or whether they decided to treat themselves to something a little bigger with two wheels, all in all the atmosphere was electric.

The event ran all weekend and the entertainment was constantly flowing with music acts, comedy gigs, talent contests and of course the ultimate drag racing.

If you didn't turn up this time you should prepare yourselves for Bug Jam next year because it just gets better and better!
